Employers around the world are indicating an uptick in hiring in the new year. However, some regions — such as Asia Pacific — are projecting a healthier outlook than other regions, such as the US. Hiring in the Asia Pacific region will likely return to pre-recession levels at the start of 2010.

The phone interview is a normal part of the recruitment process and mastering it is critcial in any job market.
Here are some tips for your next phone interview;
• Remain as relaxed as you can.
• Have your resume, the job ad and your application in front of you, if possible.
• If the call occurs when you are in a location with no privacy, try to reschedule the interview to a mutually convenient time.
• Ensure there is no background noise. It is fine to ask if they can wait a moment....
